Semen donation

Sometimes there are such situations that there is no opportunity to cure male infertility. Even the method of IVF sometimes cannot help. In such case the semen donation can be used.

Why do we need semen donors?

The donor’s semen is used in that case if there are no spermatozoa in the male ejaculate. The other wide-spread reason is different serious diseases which can take a place in the next generation. Sometimes semen donation is used by women which have no partner for fertilization.

Who can be the semen donor?

The age of the donor should be between 20 and 40 years. Semen donor should have his own healthy child. The potential semen donor must do a number of special medical examinations such as for AIDS, hepatitis C and B, different infections, blood group. The examination of semen is also done. The result of semen examination must be high.

The donor semen is cryopreserved. After 6 months the semen donor should pass medical examinations once again. If there is no infections the semen is used for IVF.
